Betty: Part of staying in the Will of God is learning how not to get tricked into anxiety. Disappointment is really our will. If we were fully yielded to the Lord, we wouldn’t feel disappointment. When things happen that cause us disappointment and anxiety, we train ourselves not to go there to be tortured. Instead, we go into letting go. Jesus came to do the Father’s Will. Can you say, “Lord, please give me the resources that are needed to keep the doors open that you want open.”
When we get out of God’s will, we lose our peace. Ask God to help you get back in His will. Ask for help to put Him and His will above everything. Lift your disappointments to Jesus. When you find yourself starting to get upset, say, “I forgive myself.” Beating up on yourself makes it worse. Ask the Lord to teach you how to have peace in the desert. Trying to get out of it makes you angry. Move in a positive way, rather than negative. You set God free to do more for you when you accept His will rather than going against it.
It’s more painful to fight against God’s will. Instead, can you say, “Lord, bring whatever good is meant to come out of it.” Move in the direction that leads to deeper peace. People who accept God’s will are better off. They’re happier. We don’t have to understand before we say “yes” to God. We say “yes,” and then we say, “Lord help me to stop fighting everything that happens. Bring me hope. Help me enter into joy. Set me free.” Image forgiveness coming over you. Don’t let Satan take you down a negative path and torture you.
