AM: A lady from church blasted me… 

Betty: You need to take that to the Lord and say, “Lord, help me to work thru what of this is true.” But, put it all back in his hands, namely all the judgment she threw all over you. Then say, “Lord, help me to accept what, if any of this, is true. Show me where it is. Bring me to repentance. But Lord, I also hold her up to you in any way that my accepting what is true can help her.” Do you see what you’re doing? You’re refusing to go into a place of negative judgment, which would be what Satan would want, where you sit there, judging her back. Refuse to go there. But be willing to be taken by the Lord into any thing of what she said that could help you grow. Then, the Lord can work with that to set you more free. It can be a really good thing. 

I pray, “Lord, don’t let me miss the good that you want to come out of this.” That’s the kind of thing that I’m talking about. Whereas, Satan really wants you to get mad and judge her back and keep the ball game rolling. Don’t go there. Don’t fall for the trap. In other words, Satan would like you to throw judgment back at her, so you both get entrapped. That’s not what the Lord wants out of this. He wants both of you to get healed.  So, ask the Lord to bring out of this what will glorify Him. But if Satan keeps trying to get you to play the tape of all the stuff that the lady threw over on you in her own judgment. I would say, “Ok, her stuff that she needs to look at is coming out. It takes one to know one.”  But then, give that to the Lord. Don’t go wasting your energy and time with judging her. But, as you pray for freedom, bring her into prayer. So, maybe God, in his mercy, will help that poor girl get into a better place where she starts seeing her shadow. But then you’ll move on to healing if you refuse to sit in the place of judgment and keep judging her. You don’t want to get caught up in people’s stuff. They might decide to throw it, but you don’t want to get caught. That’s that sticky stuff that judgment brings about. 

AM: Okay, and then God can provide an opportunity for healing if he wants, but I first have to do that work. 

Betty: Yes. Because you can, as you are allowing God to heal you, keep praying for healing for her and anyone in the family that is caught up in this stuff.

If you find yourself resenting another, it may help to pray, “Lord, help me to accept what, if any of this, is true. Show me where it is. Bring me to repentance. But Lord, I also hold him/her up to you in any way that my accepting what is true can help him/her.”
