AM: X says, “When things are good in my life, then something bad is gonna happen. Because it always does.” She says that over and over. How can I help her? 

Betty: Okay, now that is directly from the mouth of Hell. It’s actually what you could call a psychological curse. If she keeps playing that line, she is cursing herself. She invites a spirit of despair if that’s her belief system. Because she’s creating an environment for despair by her belief. That’s why it’s really good, in our daily examination, if we notice these places where we are not living in goodness, love, or truth. Those are the places that are open for Satan’s infestation, because we’ve accepted his deceit. 

You might say a deceit is like the environment of the father of lies. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”  So, if Jesus’ “I am” identifies with truth, He will be found in the truth that is within us. He cannot live within the deceit in us. That’s why it’s so important to really keep repenting where there’s any deceit. I do believe our environment invites us into deceit, because deceit is all around us. But it doesn’t give us an excuse to reject He who is truth. If we’re accepting deceit, we are rejecting truth. It’s one and the same thing. That’s why truth is so important to me. Because in Scripture, wherever you have the “I Am,” God is identifying, “I am life.” So, when I am aware of God. I am aware of Him first and foremost as light. But He says, “I am life.” So, that light is also life. And I can breathe in God, who was life. Do you follow what I’m saying? 

AM: Yeah. As you visualize the light going into you, you’re also receiving life. 

Betty: Exactly. But also, I can actually pray thru my breath. Because Jesus said, “I am life.” So, I can take a deep breath, and in faith believing, receive more of Jesus. It becomes a way of prayer. And it’s contemplative prayer, because it’s the prayer of the will. “I am life.” I will to receive Jesus as breath into me. “I am light.” I will to envision Jesus as light within me. “I am the way.” I will to envision myself surrendering into the arms of Jesus to be taken into the fullness of who I am. Are you following? See, these are all “will acts.” I am going deeper into God. It’s a very powerful way of praying. To me, it is deeper than a vocal prayer. There are moments for vocal prayer, too. I’m not trying to negate vocal prayer. But if you talk in terms of quality, the breath, the vision of light, the surrender into he who is the way, is reaching the 95% of me. Whereas, the vocal prayer reaches 5% of me. Because the language of the unconscious is imaging, like breathing and that’s drama. If I say, “Breathe in God who is life,” that’s like a drama. It’s an act in which you take your breath, and open your lungs for more of God, and image, think, or feel yourself opening more to God. That is a prayer. By teaching people how to pray beyond words, you can help them go deeper into letting go into God.
