AM: There are Catholics who are blind to the evil in the game Dungeons and Dragons.
Betty: If they haven’t gone that far in the spiritual life, then they haven’t found how they’ve been contaminated yet. As they try to really draw closer to Christ, then they see where all these things that people want to say are okay are not really okay. A lot of Catholic leaders are not fully living in depth the Christian life.
AM: How do you help convince others it’s an open door to the demonic?
Betty: Keep praying they get closer to Christ. And then, as they get closer to Christ, they begin to realize the stuff that’s holding them back, and they want to get rid of it. In these kind of games, they’re playing with spells and curses and all the crud that the witches send back and forth to each other. It would be like if they played a real Christian game that helped people understand Christianity more. But, instead here they’re praying stuff that helps them understand how better to throw curses and that kind of stuff on each other. They’re focusing on the wrong stuff, the stuff which can pull them into the depths of the underworld in a way that could destroy them. But their faith is so flimsy and unreal that they’re sitting on the edge playing with the tools of Satan. They say, “Oh, what’s wrong with this?” It’s like, “Folks, when you’re further away from God, you don’t have discernment.” That’s why prayer is important. Because true prayer makes you alive, so you begin to feel what isn’t attracting you toward God, but attracting you toward the opposite side.
AM: These kids will argue, “We’re not saying the spell part of it. We just want to play the game.”
Betty: If they knew who Satan was, they wouldn’t want to fool around with him. It’s because they’re such unbelievers, they want to play the game. People are falling into Hell, but they want to play the game. Once you’re in Hell, you can’t get back out. You’re in the game forever.
AM: Oh, that’s how they get into Hell, because they open up to the demonic?
Betty: Sure they do. Where are they putting their focus? How many powers I received? Ok, go ahead. They’re playing with witches’ stuff. What do they expect? People are playing with Ouija boards, and then they get a demon in them that’s so vicious that they have to go to only the advanced exorcist, because the other poor priests can’t get it out. Where did it come from? The Ouija board. They say, “We thought it was just a game.” The fact of the matter is that’s where the Lord gave Catholics so many wonderful helps. But we’re lazy. With some people, there’s almost this defiance, “Well, why not?” You want to play with going to Hell. I don’t think so.
