AM: Luke’s coach is very bullheaded and I found myself feeling angry with him because…

Betty: Yeah, you get so into it that common sense is ignored as you’re mouthing off. So there again, that would be a spot of weakness that you might want to hold that up to the Lord and say, “Please Lord, I need your help here not to lose control, the good sense of control. Because the enemy could use this.” You know better.  Go into tongues. Let’s see what’s going 

AM: This guy is a control freak and an arch controller. It reminds me of being controlled by X, and it is like, “Heck no.” 

Betty: Okay, turn to the Lord. How would you pray? 

AM: “Lord, help me not to get caught in people that remind me of X…” 

Betty: Say, “Help me not to overreact when I’m around people like X. Because the very thing I hated in him can begin to happen in me.” So, give that image to God of yourself losing control and wanting to takeover. See, when X didn’t like something, he’d get mad. 

AM: “Lord, help me to accept your will and not get caught in these people…” 

Betty: “Lord, help me not get caught in the very thing that I hate. “The humble, contrite heart, you do not despise. (Psalm 51:17)  So, help me give up anything that is standing in the way of my allowing you to give me a humble, contrite heart.” I keep hearing, “The humble, contrite heart, the Lord you will not despise.” Maybe that’s an ejaculation for this time that the Lord would like you to take up in which you keep praying for a humble, contrite heart. Are you feeling more at peace? 

AM: Yeah. 

Betty: Yeah, I feel like we’ve reached a point where we could stop, but I do think this is an ongoing thing. I don’t think it’s fully complete yet. I feel like it’s essential for the days ahead. “Please Lord, continue to guide us. Open us to what it is you want us to yield to.” It is going to make your life easier in a sense. And maybe that’s why you were dreading it so much. Because deep down in your gut, you might have known you weren’t ready to hear that you would be fist fighting with Satan, which is not a good idea.  You want to let the Lord take care of things like that. You don’t get in between. 

I think the enemy is going be very subtle. So, we’ve got to make sure we don’t have our open weaknesses exposed, so the enemy can get to us. Now, I want you to know that anytime you talk to me, I don’t think of you in those terms. But I do think the Lord is doing this for your own good. So, I’m happy to see that he’s trying to help you get ready, so life won’t be so terribly hard for you. You’ll be able to help your family more if you get in this place. You’ll give them an example of how they’re going to have to handle themselves in order to get through the tough times. Now, it’d be nice if the Lord would say, “Okay, everybody did their work, so now I’m going to come and straighten it all out.” But right now, we don’t know that for sure.
