
AM: We need to pray that we get cleaned up spiritually.
Betty: People don’t recognize they’re in spiritual warfare, because they’re not there yet.
AM: God wants to do deeper healing, but I don’t like that sometimes depression comes with it. But that’s just because you’re saying maybe I’m not moving with this?
Betty: Well, that’s the habit you’ve established for handling things like this. You just want to go into tearing yourself apart.
AM: I see. So, that wasn’t part of what God was trying to do.
Betty: Yeah, using it in a way that would hold you back from God rather than draw close.
AM: Deacon X said, “You need to take your writing seriously, especially for these times.” So, I am making myself send out more blogs even though I don’t like all of them.
Betty: Yeah, see, people who go on likes and dislikes would not make good advisors for you. Because that following a like and dislike is not the way the Lord leads.
AM: What do you mean by that?
Betty: When I was younger, I would leave my spiritual director in tears. He was really following the Lord in His confrontations. But my lack of healing would use it like you do to dig and condemn me. And I had to work through all that stuff and catch on to Satan’s tricks to get out of it. Had you been working with him, you probably wouldn’t have lasted.
AM: He would have been really hard on me.
Betty: Well, because he was a truth teller. He wasn’t into superficial likes and dislikes. He was a good spiritual director. Some people are not ready. They’re not serious enough about the walk to hang in there through the rough spots. Some people want to be comfortable. And so they run away from God who is a truth teller.
AM: You get your truth teller now or at the end of your life. Or during the Illumination of Conscience. So, we might as well get it now.
Betty: I hope when it happens to us, you and I will be ready, because the Lord has been confronting us already with our games and stuff.
AM: I think you’ll be ready.
Betty: We don’t know ourselves,
