I read one of my journals from 2009 and found this. I don’t remember what the situation was, but here is the lesson I learned from Aunt Betty:

If you would really let go of this situation and give it to Him, He’d help. Right now, the Lord is more interested in you receiving healing and justice. The more you lean back and trust Him, the more you will be healed. There is very little in life that isn’t a part of His divine plan for us. We get caught up and get stuck. God wants us to learn and grow and then He can straighten the mess out.   Stop trying to fix it so you can move on. We torture ourselves when we get into a stubborn perfectionistic tendency.

Give yourself permission to let go of control and instead trust God. The Lord is not going to let you control Him on this. He wants something greater and more important here. He is offering peace. To accept it, we have to say, “Not my will, but Thine be done.” Keep saying it over and over from the heart. Then God will give us the grace to surrender
