SATAN LOVES FENCE SITTERS, BECAUSE THEY HAVE POTENTIAL

AM: My will is getting irritated, because it’s constantly being shifted in different directions.

Betty: So, instead of using as opportunity to learn to yield, you choose rather to get angry? Why do you make that choice?

AM: The energy inside me is so intense.

Betty: Okay, so maybe you need to ask the Lord, “Do I have a resistant spirit that I need to renounce?” See, you’ve got to make a decision. You remind me of the fence sitter sitting on the fence. You haven’t made a decision, and that always encourages Satan. He loves fence sitters, because they have a potential. So, we really have to look at, “Are you convicted that life really was given for you to become an expression of God’s goodness, love and truth while here on Earth? Do you really believe that or not? And if you truly believe that, then you’re also wise enough to realize, “Of myself, on my own, without God’s help, I will not be able to continue to be good, loving and true.” Because the effects of original sin are such that it keeps pulling us to make ourselves god instead of acknowledging the true God. So, do you really believe that or not? When I was younger, I had to come to the point where either God was truth or God was a liar. Now, common sense will tell you God is truth. But the effects of original sin is such that you want both worlds. You want to be able to smorgasbord the Bible and Christianity and take out the parts from the smorgasbord you like. So, you’ve got to look at the gameplay that’s going on.

Open the door. Go downstairs inside and talk to your game player who wants the best of both worlds. Your adult can talk to Jesus. The adult part of you is like, “Look, this life is really rather precarious. I happen to come at a time when the future doesn’t look good.” Let’s say if you lived in the 1600s, you may have had a better future ahead. Right now, it seems like everybody keeps saying it’s the End Times. It really does seem that way looking at…

People have to do some very serious thinking about whether to choose pleasure when it could be a whole Eternity of pain. There has to be some serious thought. You need to do some dialoguing and journaling. Do you want to get off the fence? Because you’re putting yourself at risk by sitting up there, and it’s making it harder. I found that once I make a decision, then I can make clear judgments. Both/and doesn’t work, though lots of people try it

AM: I try to do God’s will, but sometimes I grumble. Once I shift gears, I can settle into it.

Betty: Yeah, you might want to check with the Lord. Is this just a lot of bad habit? Or is this actual demonic contamination or a rebellious spirit? A lot of times, if we work with the Lord, the Spirit begins to lose hold the more choices we make for the Lord. Fr. Iannuzzi said that every time we sin, we give Satan more power over us. So, that kind of thing enters in there, too. We’re making our life harder to be good with bad habits of sin.

Do you find yourself sitting on fence in any area of your life where you’re not willing to fully surrender to Christ and follow His will? You could do some dialogue and journaling and ask yourself, ‘Do I want to get off the fence?” Then, make a deliberate choice to close the doors to those areas leading you away from Christ and humbly surrender asking for His help
