VALUABLE MOMENTS ARE WASTED WHEN WE GRUMBLE INSTEAD OF SAYING, “GOD IS PERMITTING THIS”

Betty: We can fast when we’re in places that we’re uncomfortable in. We can say, “Lord, I want to give you my effort to stay patient,” instead of pushing it down and being resentful. Stay in the moment, and deal with the feelings of ick and offer it up. They’re valuable moments and they’re wasted when we grumble instead of saying, “God is permitting this.” You can say, “Lord, I’m feeling irritated. But in this moment, I offer it up. I unite it with Your passion.” Christ is suffering in that moment. Walk through your day and offer all up.

  1. This is so true, but easier said than done! And yet, how often do we come to realize later that those painful moments or situations were EXACTLY what was needed for us to have deeper joy, knowledge, patience, confidence… As you always said, God forges us as Gold in the fiery furnace.
