Betty: A lot of the nuns probably think I’m nuts. Feedback is not what I’m about. I don’t look for recognition. I simply try to give God glory. That’s all I’m trying to do. And I’m happy. I simply try to do whatever I can. And then God, in His mercy, is gracious. 

Some people see the work I’ve done over the years. Some don’t. Some people would believe it never happened. That’s okay. What’s it all about? It’s about the glory of God. It’s not about how you feel each day or what you accomplished? You look at it at night and say, “Ok Lord, if I could have loved you more, and if I was in my selfish place, please forgive me. For my intent was to love you.” That’s how I operate.  It’s a happy life. I’m much happier. You need to look at your priorities, because there’s a lot the Lord revealed today about your motivation that needs work. Take a good look. Do you really truly want to die to your will? I don’t know.

AM: Yes. I wish I had a better attitude about it. 

Betty: Well, what you do is you don’t wish, you pray.People of faith don’t wish. They pray. 

AM: “Lord, help me have a better attitude about dying to my will. Help me to find the joy in it and not go into depression with it.” 

Betty: The depression could have to do with your expectations. Ask the Lord to find his expectations for you and to line with that. Oh, that’ll be a beginning of deep happiness.  To truly want what God knows is good would be progress for you. 

AM: Lord, help me want what you want…” 

Betty: “And help me give up any false expectations, wants or desires that are not from you and are only creating depression within me.” See, because false expectations are one of the main sources of unhappiness. People who carry false expectations are forever being disappointed, because they haven’t really hit upon what will truly give them happiness. They haven’t reached into that. You need to ask the Lord to help you desire that which will truly make you happy, and let go of any of the deceit that is causing you unhappiness. Go into tongues, and give the Holy Spirit permission to clean out anything within you that fits that category.
