DO WE RECOGNIZE GOD IN WHAT COMES OUR WAY?

Betty:I hope you’re not eating down your feelings. You work better when you don’t eat them down.

AM: I’m just trying to get through and keep plugging along.

Betty: Yeah, but you have this time that we can really work with it if you could let go of your consolations.

AM: I gave up coffee, but I have chocolate protein shakes.

Betty: Human nature has a way of finding something else to console it. I think what you need to do is go downstairs with Jesus, and ask the Lord to open the doors He needs to get open to get in contact with what your frustration and anger is about. Right now, I feel like you’re blocking your feelings, because you don’t like them. But you’re much better off to keep releasing and receiving God’s love and healing light rather than blocking them. Because I think you push yourself in deeper depression.

AM: There’s a lot of disappointment. I had hopes that things would be better.

Betty: Take a look at the word disappointment. What is the definition of disappointment?

AM: Dissatisfaction with His appointment. You’ve told me to take the D out of “disappointment,” and change it to “His appointment.” So, if we don’t do that, then we’re dissatisfied with God’s appointment.

Betty: Exactly. In other words, God’s appointment is God’s will. So, once you’ve decided that you’ve had enough disappointment in your life, you have a way out. What is the way out?

AM: Walk through whatever you’re disappointed about.

Betty: In order to walk through it, don’t you first have to accept it? Remember what I just got finished talking about?

AM: You don’t want to be caught up in your feelings; you want to make a choice of the will.

Betty: There’s a connection here. You want to know true happiness, and that’s why the saints, even though many of them were called to go through a lot of suffering, yet they were known for their joy. You got your finger on the source of why they have felt joy. But you’re not feeling that joy. What’s the difference?

AM: They accept what comes their way whether it’s good or bad.

Betty: Do they accept or do they recognize God in what comes their way. It’s like, “Oh, okay, is this really what you want of me?” It’s an attitude towards life. And you can make the resolution today to change your attitude toward life to know more joy. Or you could continue to be disappointed. Go into tongues and get a translation of what you’re thinking and feeling.  I just got an image and it was funny. It was of a bull with his head down. He was pushing, wanting to go the opposite way from the way he was being led. His neck and shoulders were very strong. But image yourself being the bull. God wants you to go the opposite way, and image yourself pushing against it.
