TO RECEIVE HEALING, YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR OWN STUFF

Betty: It’s not Jesus’ fault when we’re not healed. It’s just that we’re not always ready to be healed.

AM: And why wouldn’t we be ready? Is it that we don’t want to look at those ugly places inside ourselves? What’s the obstacle? Why wouldn’t anybody in their right mind want to be healed?

Betty: Well, for one, I see with a lot of people an avoidance of pain. To receive healing, it’s not all fun and games. It’s painful. Because you have to look at your own stuff. You have to open a door, a door that for a lot of people holds pain.

But then I see them turn their anger at Jesus saying, “Well, why doesn’t he heal me?” It’s because we don’t want to be healed at some part of our being. And we really have to pray, “Lord, help us get all the doors open, so we can receive as much healing as you can possibly give us.”

Yeah, I do not believe it’s ever God’s problem if we’re not healed. It has to do with us, because God is very generous. If we open the door, I think He will heal us. Like I’ve had people say, “When Jesus walked the earth, he healed all of those who called on him. How come he’s not doing that anymore?” And I said, “In my opinion, it’s not because he’s not ready to do it. It’s because we don’t have enough faith to let Him do it.” We’ve got to believe that Jesus heals.

AM: That makes sense, because I feel like the more I’m putting my faith in action, the more fruitful it is.

Betty: In Central America, missionaries have said when they go there, they see so many powerful healings and they come back and they wonder why it doesn’t occur more here. And I personally believe because people with simple faith believe what you tell them that Jesus can heal. And that, in turn, actually opens them to allow themselves to be healed. Whereas, we sophisticated people tend to go into, “Oh, if only Jesus could heal…” Well, He can. The problem is ours…our willingness to let ourselves be healed.

If you look in scripture, Jesus will say, “Woman, great is your faith,” or “Go thy way. Thy faith has healed thee.” Well, Jesus is saying the woman opened to believe, and thus he could heal her.

Can you pray, “Lord, help us get all the doors open so we can receive as much healing as you can possibly give us.”
