AM: I felt judgment coming from them. So, there’s judgment that I took in, not only on myself, but it was coming from the outside.
Betty: Well, then why don’t you give that over to the Lord. You don’t need to carry it around, do you? I think X suffered from a lot of what you expressed today. So, why don’t you pray for him? That might explain why Y has a need to talk about what she’s doing. That might be why you get so irritated at that, because it’s really in yourself. And she unconsciously is getting too close to something you really don’t want to see. The very thing you hate that you see in her is in yourself.
AM: There’s insecurity. Everybody feels like they’ve got to accomplish something to get love.
Betty: “Lord, set all of those suffering from this lie free. Help them in any way that they also push each other back, because of their own need to be recognized. Any way that they refuse to recognize who the other is as though the other receiving recognition is going to take recognition from them. Any way the enemy has fooled them with this basic law that he has going for him.” Keep praying in tongues.”
AM: It’s all about performance.
Betty: It’s the ego. We all have a mission. And only God fully understands who we are and what we’re called to. But our joy is to be found in the fulfilling of that mission. That’s what it’s all about, Alfie. You could be happier and more at peace. That’s what we’re working on. We’re working on what you do inside yourself. I haven’t heard complaints. Have you heard complaints from the Lord about what you’re doing?
AM: Not really. He may not be so happy when I don’t focus as well.
Betty: You really destroy your peace with some of the dumb games you’re playing. And that’s why you want to get over that. Because that’s dumb to steal your own peace from yourself. There’s a part of you that wants more. And that’s okay. But you have to let go and accept what God is permitting you to have. But you also need to do what you did, namely acknowledge the part of you that has its separate agenda. You need to look at that and where it’s not in alignment with what you truly believe God wants for you. Does that make sense? You talk it over with God. So, you acknowledge what’s there. But you don’t act on it. You act on what the Lord’s asking of you.
