Betty: When you’re in places where you’re uncomfortable, then pray, “Lord, I want to give you my effort to be patient.” Instead of pushing your feelings down and being resentful, stay in the moment, and deal with the feelings of ick, and offer it up. They’re valuable moments. And they’re wasted when we grumble instead of saying, “God is permitting this. Lord, I’m feeling irritated, but I’m going to offer it up and unite it with your passion.” Christ is suffering with you in that moment. Walk through your day and offer all of it up.
I just heard in prayer, “For the Lord to do what you’re asking, you need to hand over this stuff we’re talking about and not blame yourself. Put it in His hands. Ask the Lord to heal you of the areas you’ve made a mistake.” Jesus can’t work with it, until you let go. Let the Lord convict you of what you need to be healed of, and let him heal X. Don’t get in between. There needs to be an honesty of admitting faults.
Keep your focus on Jesus. He will only permit that which will bring you closer to Him. Focus on being healed, rather than on, “It’s going to get worse.” Or your body will get the unconscious message that it will have problems. Focus is very important in our life, so we don’t suffer needlessly. We can bring things on ourselves, because we are careless.
Can you take whatever frustrating situation you’re going through and shift your focus to offering it up and realizing you’re suffering with Christ in those moments? Ask Him to show you the good He wants to bring out of whatever it is you’re suffering.
