ONLY IN ETERNITY WILL SOME THINGS IN OUR LIFE MAKE SENSE

AM: I’m trying.

Betty: And that’s all God expects of you is to try, and fall on him when you feel like you can’t get where you need to go.

AM: God’s doing a lot of work in other people. In my family, it’s a little slower, but…

Betty: Well, don’t you think we see it more around us? When it’s close, we don’t get to see where it is. It’s like the other people look like they’re doing so much better. They have their problems, too. Offer up this hardship you’re going through for X. You’ve got plenty of reasons to make good use of your suffering.

God is there for each of us. We go different routes.  Only in Eternity will some of this begin to make sense. So, with your kids, we don’t know what is going to happen in their lives. But we keep praying that they have the grace for whatever they’re called to and whatever they’re gonna have to face. Pray that they be given the strength to be faithful to God’s call to them. Life is really a mystery.

People who have faith have it easier. Those without faith don’t even have the consolation of knowing they’re on the right path of God. Put one foot before the other. Live a moment at a time. I tell myself we’re in a mystery. In Eternity it’s all gonna make sense. “Lord, help those we love make those right decisions that will put them in the door that you are calling them to in whatever moment of time they need to be in that yes.”

Pray that the Lord help those you love make the right decisions that will put them in the door that He’s calling them to in whatever moment of time they need to be in that yes.
